Favicon help needed...!

Now I'm rather tired of trying to put a favicon for my blog.

I clicked on customize - edit HTML and there in the head section i typed the following code

link rel = "icon" type = "image/png" href = "http://example.com/index/image.png"


But no result. I cant see a favicon on my blog, can you?
